We know that the world we live in is saturated with content. Social media affords anyone with an internet connection the opportunity to have a voice, so why does our voice matter? It’s an internal battle we’ve struggled with our entire lives. Does our voice really matter? Does what we have to say need to be said?
dodjira was created as a rebellion against the idea that our voice is unnecessary. Because it isn’t. All of our voices matter and each of us bring our own unique perspective into the collective culture that now defines our everyday. Long have we sat in the shadows, creating in silence, but that silence is over and we’re ready to finally have our voice heard.
Sometimes that voice will be sarcastic and rude. Other times it will be subversive and anti-establishment. It will definitely bolster the sentiments of the disenfranchised and champion the underdog. Occasionally it will hit the notes and other times we’ll fall flat. The reason our voice needs to be heard is the same reason that your voice needs to be heard: we all deserve a chance at making our mark on the world.
